Marine Boat Yard Hand POSITION SUMMARY As a Harri Commercial Marine yard hand, you will be responsible for carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve service department objectives. Day to day operations including, but aren’t limited to assisting with the launching and hauling of boats as well as, the preparation & painting of said boats, organizing the display & arrangement of boats on yard premises. Other responsibilities may arise based on experience and understanding of our day to day operations over time. EXPECTATIONS & COMPENSATION Job Type: Full time M-F, 8:00AM- 5PM Salary/Pay period: Weekly compensation at $15/hr starting, will increase based on experience and work ethic. Overtime: Possible & expected RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES Haul, block and launch boats Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crew members as needed Operate yard machinery forklift, power washer, etc. Grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness Availability to work overtime when required Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent preferred Forklift experience a plus Ability to ascend and descend a ladder Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to lift 30-50 pounds Basic boat handling skills is a plus MINIMUM SOFT SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS Excellent verbal and written communication skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to provide exceptional customer service and an understanding of customers’ needs Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team context Organizational skills are a must Detail oriented and ability to multitask are essential skills OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED) Welding/Fabrication Experience with power tools/standard tools Mechanical/engine repair Any form of boating knowledge COMPANY & CONTACT INFORMATION Harri Commercial Marine is one of the branches associated with Harri Plumbing, Heating, & Marine, which means that at times you will be expected to work with employees from the other branches.
