WAKEFIELD, MA — Police are warning residents after a man reportedly approached a teenage girl and made inappropriate comments to a woman in her yard this week. A report came in Wednesday night about a man in a black pickup truck who drove up to a teen girl. He asked about how old she was and about her dog, questions that made her uncomfortable. The girl ran home and the man drove away. The man in question is believed to be the same one in a Monday incident in which he made inappropriate comments to a woman who was doing yard work in her front yard. The man is described as white in his 60s with long white or gray hair and beard. He drives a black GMC pickup with New Hampshire plates. There was another instance last week where a man drove up to a girl and asked if she wanted a ride. The man was spoken to and it was determined no crime had been committed. It wasn't immediately clear if the man from last week was the same suspected from this week's incidents. "We take these reports seriously and have investigated each thoroughly. However, no crimes have been committed at this time," police posted on their website. "We are again reminding everyone to be aware of their surroundings and to not engage with strangers that are making you uncomfortable." Mike Carraggi can be reached at [email protected].
