BROOKLYN, NY — A man was shot in the leg when a pair of shooters opened fire on a Carroll Gardens street last week, the first shooting in the neighborhood in at least two years, according to police. The two shooters were caught on surveillance video pacing Hoyt Street in front of the Gowanus Houses just after midnight on Wednesday, April 21, according to police and video. After appearing to spot someone across the street, the two take out guns and start shooting toward the housing complex, video shows. One of the bullets hit a 46-year-old man in the leg, police said. He was taken Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition. The shooters both ran toward Douglass Street before emergency responders arrived. The shooting is the first in Carroll Gardens in at least two years, though it is the sixth this year in the 76th Precinct, which also covers Red Hook, Cobble Hill and parts of Gowanus, NYPD data shows. Police released several photos of the suspects: Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
