MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — Appointments to receive the coronavirus vaccine are no longer required at Miami-Dade County distribution sites, the county said in a news release.
Walk-ups are now permitted at the county vaccination distribution sites: Tropical Zoo, Zoo Miami and the Homestead Sports Complex.
For a faster registration process on-site, residents are encouraged to sign up for appointments available both same-day and in coming days by making a reservation onlineor calling 305-614-2014, the county said.
"I'm proud that Miami-Dade County was one of the first communities in the country to develop an online pre-registration system to help fairly allocate vaccine appointments when supply was extremely limited," Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said.
The mayor added, "Now, more than 1.2 million residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and we are making it as easy as possible to get a vaccine while expanding our outreach and education efforts to make sure no communities are left behind. Getting vaccinated is our best shot to protect our loved ones and put the pandemic behind us."
