Kangwoo Jin comes to the Hastings Arts Center from South Korea via Madison, WI where he serves on the piano faculty at the University. Praised for his “refined tone quality with immensely powerful energy” (Chosun Daily Newspaper), Kangwoo Jin is an accomplished pianist concertizing nationally and internationally, including in Germany, Italy, China and Korea. Dr. Jin has recently given live performances on Wisconsin Public Radio and WORT FM, and he was featured on WISC-TV Channel 3000 and the Wisconsin State Journal. He gave his debut concert at the Sejong Arts Center (Seoul, Korea) in 2005, sponsored by the Chosun Daily Newspaper. He is the recipient of the J. Battista Scholarship for performance excellence at Indiana University and the Collins Distinguished Fellowship for his doctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
