Mendoza Painting is a team-oriented painting and pressure washing business hiring in the North Bay Area. We are looking for experienced clean, professional, and ready-to-work individuals to join our team to provide quality painting, pressure washing, and touch-ups to our clients here in the Bay Area. We are currently hiring for Full-Time and Part-Time positions to join our team! Distinguishing Characteristics: We provide painting and pressure washing services for a wide variety of residential and commercial buildings. Work is assigned daily depending on the current project in process and what tasks need to be completed during a shift. This position will require employees to work in a team environment and at times individually depending on the tasks assigned. Hours/Schedule: Full-Time: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day Part-Time: Monday – Friday, 4 hours per day *Weekends may be required if a project is estimated to take a little longer* Pay/Wage Description: Starting wage will be discussed and negotiated depending on experience. Those who show and provide quality work will be considered for a raise after a 90-day probationary period. Requirements: • Reliable transportation with a clean DMV record • Clean criminal background • Has experience with the posted job • Can provide their own tools Qualifications: Professional Expertise / Safety Focus / Planning & Organizing / Integrity / Attention to Detail / Teamwork / Physical Skills / Sensory Perception Skills / Flexibility / Customer Focus / Effective Communication/ High Level of Care and Thoroughness Knowledge of: • Methods, materials, tools, techniques, procedures, and equipment used in the painting and pressure washing trade • The basic qualities of various paints and sealers including adaptability • Methods of preparing different surfaces for painting or repainting • Safe working practices and procedures Ability To: • Perform journey level painting work • Safely operate the variety of tools and equipment used • Read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions • Adhere to all safety practices and regulations • Act ethically beyond reproach • Stay clear and focused on what is expected or needs to be accomplished • Prioritize tasks with respect to importance and deadlines • Help team members who need or ask for support or assistance • Perform the manual/physical activities of the job • Communicate effectively orally • Exercise good judgment • Show a high level of care and thoroughness in handling the details of the job Essential Duties: • Applies paint to designated surfaces to interior and/or exterior surfaces outlined for the job project • Provides quality pressure washing services with care and knowledge of how to handle the equipment • Scrapes, sands, fills or in other manner prepares surfaces for painting or repainting • Erects, rigs, or moves scaffolding and platforms • Applies prime and finished coats to plaster walls and other surfaces • Uses, operates, and maintains a variety of tools, equipment and materials of the painting and pressure washing trade • Ensures that safe working practices and procedures are recognized, addressed, and followed • Moves obstructive objects to complete tasks • Performs other related duties as required Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform their job duties and tasks. This is a heavily physical job that may require employees to constantly stand, walk, sit, may lift and carry up to ninety (90) lbs., climb heights up to thirty (30) feet, carry, push/pull, maintain balance, stoop/bend, bend repeatedly, crawl, reach overhead, repetitively use fingers, repetitively use wrists or hand in a twisting motion or while applying pressure, use both hands/legs simultaneously, have rapid mental/muscular coordination, speak clearly, hear normal voice conversation, have depth perception, color vision, distinguish shades, see small details, see long distances, operate in very small spaces, use respirator masks, operate a mobile motorized equipment, use a computer and a telephone. Employees in this position at times will work outside, in temperatures above 90° and below 50°, in changing temperatures, with sharp objects, dust, chemicals, odors, machinery with moving parts, moving vehicles, in direct contact with the public and clients. With the recent pandemic that we are currently facing, employees will be required to wear masks and comply with health guidelines to keep clients and staff healthy during this time. This especially for interiors job projects; it is important employees are healthy, keeping a respectable distance, and wearing a mask when in close contact with others.
