Join us at Windsor Hills Elementary & Middle School as we beautify their school yard greenspace and outdoor classroom The Parks & People Foundation is working with Windsor Hills School to beautify their school grounds and to create an outdoor environmental learning and play space for their students. Join us as we take on various projects such as greening, gardening, weeding, and planting around their school yard as a part of this project. Who can come? This event is open to all Windsor Hills community members and high-school students in the Baltimore area. Why should I come? All participants will gain experience with gardening and community service in Baltimore, and contribute to beautifying a schoolyard. Students who participate will receive service-learning hours. Those who attend multiple events will also receive priority placement in the Parks & People Summer Jobs Program! It is also a great volunteer opportunity to include on your resume. Snacks and water will be provided. What will I be doing? Gardening, removing weeds, building mulch pathways, etc What should I wear/bring? Is anything provided? Wear a mask, closed-toed shoes, pants, a hat, sunscreen, & bug spray Bring a water bottle and gardening gloves. We will provide water, snacks, tools, hand sanitizer, and gloves. Rain Date We will notify participants of a reschedule date if there is inclement weather COVID-19 Safety Procedures All participants will be required to wear proper personal protective equipment aligning with Baltimore City Regulations and are expected to maintain physical distancing throughout the event.
