Interior framing; 2 8' tall interior 2x4 walls are already removed. the ceiling above them is stripped of drywall, open roof joists are exposed (flat roof uses 2x10's) Job entails: 1. wall #1 9 ft wide. support ceiling on each side of former wall; cut each 2x10 ceiling joist (approx. 8) to accommodate one 4x10. 2. after cutting each joist, install joist hangers - approx 16 (2 per each former joist, for each side of beam). 3. open up walls at each end of where beam will sit. Prepare to nest in a 4x4 post in each pocket. 4. nest beam into pocket, support with 4x4's on each end, and nail up joist hangers. 5. wall #2 approx 11 ft wide. support ceiling on each side of former wall; cut each 2x10 ceiling joist (approx. 11) to accommodate one 4x10. 6. after cutting each joist, install joist hangers. approx 22 (2 per each former joist, for each side of beam). 7. open up walls at each end of where beam will sit. Prepare to nest in a 4x4 post in each pocket. 8. nest beam into pocket, support with 4x4's on each end, and one approximately mid span where another wall will tie-in, and nail up joist hangers. I'm budgeting for approx. 3 days (I'm a former GC and contractor) and can supply you an apprentice handyman for help cutting ceiling/roof joists and lifting beam. Name your price or your daily rate, need job done before May 16. If you want to drywall you can do that too after inspection. more on that later.
