Selections by Bach, Pergolesi, and Scarlatti, performed on harpsichord and voice by students and faculty of the Nelly Berman School of Music At 12:00PM on Sunday, May 23, 2021, the Nelly Berman School of Music is proud to present its first in-person concert – en plein air at the Bryn Mawr Gazebo – since last February. “A Spring Concert: Arias and Solo Harpsichord Works” will feature Baroque repertoire by Bach, Pergolesi, and Scarlatti performed on harpsichord and voice. “A Spring Concert” is the inaugural event of the Main Line Baroque Society, a group started by Torsten Fras, harpsichord student of Dr. Anna Kislitsyna and 14-year-old student at Shipley School. Torsten Fras is a finalist on NPR's "From the Top" (2021), first prize winner of the Charleston International Baroque Music Competition (2021), honorable mention recipient of the Boulder Bach Festival's World Bach Competition (2020), and third prize winner of the Canadian International Music Competition (2020). The Main Line Baroque Society plans to present a series of Baroque concerts each year. In addition to Dr. Kislitsyna, Ms. Voznaya, & Torsten, the concert will also feature performances by Isabelle Matuch, a middle school student at Agnes Irwin School, on the harpsichord. Isabelle is also a harpsichord student of Dr. Anna Kislitsyna. The concert is open to the public, with required advance ticket orders. Tickets for adults will be $15, and tickets for students 18 years and younger will be $10. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite or by emailing the event organizers at [email protected].
