Description

The Environmental Interpretive Center at U-M Dearborn features gardens and a three-mile foot trail through nature. Come wander in wonder! When we asked our VEJ community to tell us where to go Wonder Walking in 2021, the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) at U-M Dearborn topped the list. Come enjoy this one-part guided nature walk, one-part guided spiritual retreat as we explore the center's three miles of nature trails and three gardens: A community organic garden, a half-acre mushroom garden, and a two half-acre rain gardens. Your nature guide will be Ranger Rick Simek, the program supervisor at the EIC. Ranger Rick supervises all of the EIC's educational and interpretive programs as well as overseeing the community organic garden. Your spiritual guide will be Willy Secrest (a "fan favorite" among the VEJ community). Before retiring, Willy led the world religions program at Henry Ford Community College for 35 years.
