RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — Eisenhower Health received five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in its Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating released Thursday, an achievement that only 15 percent of hospitals nationwide attained, according to the health care provider.
The Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients. The information is designed to help consumers make informed decisions about health care.
The rating summarizes up to 57 quality measures reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia, as well as, measures that focus on hospital-acquired infections, including catheter-associated urinary tract infections.
The overall rating demonstrates how well each hospital performed, on average, as compared to other U.S. hospitals.
"To be ranked among the top 15 percent of hospitals in the United States is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our physicians, nurses and staff who deliver the very best in patient care each and every day," said Martin Massiello, president and CEO of Eisenhower Health. "For 50 years, Eisenhower Health has remained committed to providing the safest, highest quality care to our community. To receive a five-star overall quality rating in the midst of a global pandemic underscores our commitment."
