Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: A Commercial roofer/laborer works under general supervision. They receive assignments in the form of verbal or written instructions. Independently lays out the work, determines applicable work methods, plans sequence of work, and accomplishes assignments in compliance with practices and standards established in the job profile of the vocation. They are responsible for observing safety rules. Job Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: • 2 years’ experience in commercial construction is preferred. • Able to apply trade knowledge procedures and practices as required. Must be skilled in the safe and economical use of the full range of tools, equipment, and materials needed for the accomplishment of the assigned work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lays roofing material to repair, maintain, and install roofs and accessories. • Determines cause and extent of damage, and located leaks • Installs new roofs including but not limited to TPO, EPDM, sheet metal, metal flashing, and other roofing accessories • Performs other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, climb ladder, bend, kneel, type, and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
