Arrests To Be Announced In Aurora Wendy's Carjacking

AURORA, IL—New information about a January carjacking/shooting that left one woman injured is expected to be released Thursday morning by Aurora police. The 10:30 a.m. press conference will include the announcement of two arrests and new details regarding the Jan. 16 incident that occurred in the parking lot of Wendy's, 1200 block of North Orchard Road. Callers reported an armed carjacking around 4 p.m. on the day of the incident. Officers found a woman injured on the ground, and she was taken to a local hospital by paramedics. Witnesses told officers that two black men in a black Ford Escape pulled up next to the woman's SUV and forced her out before shooting her in the back, police said. Police said they later learned the Ford Escape that the men left behind in the Wendy's parking lot was stolen in a DeKalb County carjacking less than an hour before. Check back for updates.
