Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Earnest Winston announced two new principal appointments at tonight's Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education meeting.
Brenda Mills was named principal at Parkside Elementary. She has been assistant principal at Joseph W. Grier Academy since 2020 and was assistant principal at Parkside from 2015 to 2020. Mills was dean of students and multi-class leader at Barnette Elementary from 2013 to 2015; a principal intern, teacher and literacy facilitator at Highland Creek Elementary from 2007 to 2013; and a teacher at Dilworth Elementary from 1999 to 2007. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Johnson C. Smith University and a Master of Education: Curriculum and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Dr. Kevin Woods was named principal at Randolph IB Middle. He has been principal at Crown Point Elementary since 2018. Dr. Woods was also principal at John Motley Morehead STEM Academy from 2014 to 2018 and Windsor Park Elementary from 2007 to 2014. He earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, S.C.; a master's degree in education administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; and a doctoral degree in educational leadership school superintendency from Wingate University.
