Man Assaults Woman In UES Whole Foods, Police Say

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police asked for help this week identifying a man who allegedly groped a woman last week in a Whole Foods Market on the Upper East Side. The assault happened around 4 p.m. on April 20, as the victim, a 52-year-old woman, was putting an object back on the shelf. As she did so, she felt someone grab her thigh and genitals, then saw a man walking away, police said. Police released surveillance images of the man on Thursday, apparently showing him checking out inside the same supermarket.
