Description

Press release from City of Douglasville: 04/29/2021 WHAT:  The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors closed Post Road Bridge over Dog River Reservoir in Douglas County in October 2020 for bridge replacement. The bridge was originally scheduled to open on 4/30/21. However, work has been delayed due to a water line replacement and the completion date is estimated to be sometime in early summer of 2021.   During the closure, traffic is being detoured around the 0.19-mile closure.  Roadside signage will alert drivers of the closure and detour in advance. This closure and detour are being installed to help ensure safety for workers and motorists.   WHEN/WHERE: Weather and on-site conditions permitting, the Post Road Bridge over the Dog River Reservoir closed to traffic between Jenkins Road and Tyree Road beginning in October 2020 for an estimated eight (8) months, through June 2021.  This press release was produced by City of Douglasville.
