Description
Did you know there's a Ferret Shelter in Eugene? Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue is a no-kill nonprofit shelter that concentrates on just one pet--FERRETS! Currently, we are the only ferret shelter on the I5 corridor in Oregon. Our main shelter is located in a residence in Eugene where most animals are housed. We have a sister shelter in Newport, OR where older and behaviorally challenged ferrets are housed.
Our services include:
* Rescuing and sheltering surrendered, abandoned, and abused ferrets;
* rehoming services for shelter ferrets;
* boarding services for ferrets at a resonable fee;
* advice and suggestions regarding caring for your ferret; and
* providing information and education for ferret owners and the general public.
Each year countless ferrets are surrendered by owners who were unprepared or unable to meet the needs of these special pets. Lane Area Ferret Shelter and Rescue provides shelter, appropriate care, and rehomes stray, abandoned or otherwise unwanted ferrets.
Please contact us if you are interested in surrendering your ferret, if you would like to adopt a ferret, or if you have questions related to your ferrets' well being.
If you are interested in adopting a ferret, you MUST do a phone interview concerning your ferret knowledge before you'll be invited to the shelter to see adoptable ferrets.
Adoptions are done outside while this pandemic lasts; they are subject to my health as well, so if you pass the interview and are invited to meet ferrets, you must use hand sanitizer before touching any ferret and you must wear a mask. Please be respectful of my rules for choosing and adopting ferrets!
Adoption fees are:
For ferrets younger than 4 years: $80 for a single; $120 for a pair.
For ferrets 4 years and older: $50 for a single; $90 for a pair.
I have had ferrets for over 20 years and have been running the shelter since 2003.
