Description

The Quality Control Technician tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process, while compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. The position receives guidance with respect to general objectives. In the majority of tasks and projects assigned, the incumbent determines methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments while operating within specific policy guidelines. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks assigned. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm. Required Skills: -Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as gradation, geological or other characteristics. -Records test data with 100% accuracy. -Evaluates data and writes brief reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. -Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. -Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis. -Maintains knowledge of standards and specifications of procedures. -Picks up material from other plants. -Assists in production, maintenance, and sales as needed. -Goes to asphalt, aggregate, and concrete customer job sites as needed. -Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. -Performs other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; No experience required. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
