Description

Explore some of the uniquely Milwaukee locations easily accessible using the Bublr Bikes System. Leaving from Zeidler Union Square Park we will take an 8-mile loop bike ride checking out the Milwaukee Public Market, Discovery World, Bradford Beach, the Public Museum, and Central Library.Much of the bike riding will be in city streets. Lincoln Village was founded by the Polish community, but now descendants from over 100 national groups, including immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America, and American Indian nations, make it the most densely populated neighborhoods in Milwaukee, as well as one of the most ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse communities in the state. Zeidler Union Square Park is accessible via the Bublr System, it is also right on MCTS route 57, two blocks west of the Blue Line, and three blocks west of route 15. There is also may be some free parking available on the south side of the park and there is metered parking as well as a parking garage nearby. Bublr has hand-cycles, upright tricycles, and e-assist bicycles available that could provide accommodations for some accessibility levels. There are five reservations available so walk leader and participants can be 6' apart and still hear each other. We will ride in light rain, but not in a downpour or thunderstorm. Since all of these locations have Bublr Stations we will be stopping and participants will have an opportunity to explore depending on each destinations COVID restrictions at the time of the event. Your Walk Leaders Your leaders know the Bublr Bike System best. You will be led by James Davies and Kristi Secord of Bublr Bikes. _________________________________________________ Find more walks, bikes, paddles, and rolls at janeswalkmke.org/calendar or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pg/janeswalkmke/events/ Find out how to lead your OWN at https://www.janeswalkmke.org/ Sign up to receive Jane’s Walk MKE newsletters at http://eepurl.com/giPDKL _________________________________________________ As a program of Milwaukee Turners at Turner Hall, Jane’s Walk MKE is part of a worldwide movement of over 200 cities hosting free, resident-led walking tours inspired by urbanist and writer Jane Jacobs.
