The Ag Crew Leader’s primary responsibility is to lead a team of agricultural workers in cultivating crops and livestock with a primary focus on cacao, coffee, and cattle.
Hire, train, supervise, and schedule agricultural workers.
Utilize maintenance plans for crops including pest control, fertilization, and harvesting.
Ensure orchards, fields, and pastures are maintained to best practices.
Ensure crop harvesting techniques are efficient and effective in 100% of harvests.
Help create and utilize an ongoing maintenance plan for livestock including cattle health initiatives and pasture rotation.
Help facilitate an expansion/reduction plan for livestock as needed including growing or culling the cattle herd.
Ensure supplies are regularly stocked through ongoing inventory and inspection.
Ensure ag facilities are kept clean and in safe working order.
Ensure the agriculture crew members adhere to health and safety regulations.
Continue to oversee, analyze, and improve agricultural operations.
Utilize given or recommended educational opportunities as needed to keep abreast of best practices.
Report any safety issues, unexcused absences, or personnel issues to Farm Manager.
Maintain efficient techniques while performing jobs, taskings, and extra duties.
Assist other departments with projects and duties as needed, including acting as a backup tour guide.
