Job Title: Journeyman Electrician Reports To: Owner/Senior Management Summary: The journeyman electrician is responsible for coordinating various critical electrical projects. Devises ways to optimize the efficiency and organization of the electrical department and crew. Ensures thorough compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Oversees the electrical sector of projects on construction sites -Reads and interprets technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints effectively -Plans and manages various electrical projects at once -Gives direction and assigns tasks to electrical crew -In charge of the proper installation of electrical panels, generators, wiring, and lighting fixtures -Commercial pipe bending -Deciphers and identifies what equipment and materials are needed for the completion of projects -Estimates and practices cost control of materials -Coordinates material pick up and delivery -Ensures optimal compliance with local, state and federal electrical codes -Conducts periodic inspections of electrical projects and systems -Reports progress, concerns, and ideas to senior management or owner Qualification Requirements: -Proven previous experience in residential and commercial electrical -Extensive knowledge in electrical systems and wiring -High school diploma -5+ years of electrical experience -Experience in supervisory or similar position -Knowledge of electrical codes -Excellent problem solving skills -Great verbal and written communication skills -Exceptional attention to detail -Meticulous and careful when operating machinery -Trained in proper use of electrical equipment and machinery -Great time management -Valid driver's license Physical Demands: -Ability to stand for long periods of time (60% of shift) -Walking (40% of shift) -Manual dexterity; enough to reach/handle items, work with fingers -Ability to lift up to 50+lbs unaided -Ability to carry, push, and pull up to 50+lbs -Constant reaching -Stooping, kneeling, crouching -Crawling and maneuvering in tight and confined spaces Travel: This job requires daily travel from one worksite to another all throughout Monterey county.
