PORT WASHINGTON, NY — The cast and crew of NBC's "Law & Order" will be filming at Gino's Pizzeria and Restaurant in Port Washington on Friday, owners say. Gino's owners announced last Friday that the pizzeria will be closed for the one-day shoot and apologized for any inconvenience it may cause to their patrons. In the meantime, they asked that patrons visit their Manhasset or Roslyn locations, noting that both stores also make home deliveries. The pizzeria's regular hours will resume on Saturday. The television show's crew will be in using Lot 1 at the Port Washington Long Island Rail Road train station as their base camp, and they will have the "exclusive right" to use two-thirds of it, as well as "the middle and eastern most" parking lanes along South Bayles Avenue, according to North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte. It is not clear which Law & Order show will be filming at the location. A representative for the show could not be immediately reached for comment. Law & Order: Organized Crime previously shot scenes for its second episode at Louie's Grill and Liquors back in February, Patch reported. The spin-off is the latest edition to NBC's Law & Order franchise and follows the character of Detective Elliot Stabler — a role reprised by actor Christopher Meloni — as he returns to the New York Police Department to battle organized crime. Meloni previously appeared on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for 12 seasons between 1999 and 2011, Deadline reported. The series debuted this month with a two-hour cross-over event in which Meloni's character was reunited with that of Captain Olivia Benson, who is played by Marisa Hargitay.
