BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Hospital and Addison Gilbert Hospital are honoring their Pet Therapy Volunteer Teams as part of this week's National Therapy Animal Day.
National Therapy Animal Day is Friday and was created to recognize all the exceptional therapy animals who partner with their human companions to bring comfort and healing to those in need.
This week the hospitals are recognizing the vital work of the volunteer teams and the powerful impact they have made upon the patients, staff and the community.
"This has been especially important during the pandemic," a hospital spokesperson said. "We are grateful for all the kindness, support and generous spirit of giving that all of our volunteers show toward our patients."
