POINT PLEASANT BEACH-Point Pleasant Beach councilman Bob Santanello was censured during the most recent council meeting on April 20, according to The Ocean Star.
Santanello, who is running for re-election this November, was accused by other borough officials of giving out closed-session information about the borough's dealings with the Amethyst Beach Motel during a March meeting.
Point Pleasant Beach mayor Paul Kanitra, who introduced the censure, was also the deciding vote as the council was spilt 3-3, with Doug Vitale, Arlene Testa and Caryn Byrnes, voting for the censure with Santanello, Andy Cortes, and Tom Migut voting against.
