BALTIMORE, MD — Vice President Kamala Harris is coming to Baltimore this week. She will be paying a visit to the M&T Bank Stadium mass vaccination site, according to WJZ, which reported it has administered more than 200,000 COVID-19 vaccines since opening in February. Harris will be in Charm City Thursday, according to the Associated Press, which reported the vice president is expected to highlight the first 100 days in office for President Joseph Biden. The administration's accomplishments include over-delivering on the promise of 100 million COVID-19 vaccines into the arms of Americans in Biden's first 100 days in office with over 230 million shots administered; rejoining the Paris Agreement to fight climate change; and adding up to 1 million jobs added in March, according to Reuters. In March, Biden planned a visit to Baltimore to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine with companies manufacturing it. Beforehand, he canceled the trip and hosted people at the White House instead. He had planned to visit the Emergent BioSolutions plant in Baltimore making the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. That operation was halted after 15 million doses of the J&J vaccine were tainted. In spite of setbacks with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Baltimore Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa announced Monday that about 25 percent of Baltimore residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning it has been two weeks since their second dose or first dose of the single-dose shot. Baltimore is familiar to Harris, who established her East Coast campaign headquarters in Baltimore in 2019 when she set her sights on the Democratic nomination for president. She also visited in October 2019 for the funeral of the late Congressman Elijah Cummings. See Also: President Joe Biden Visiting Baltimore: ReportPresident Biden Cancels Baltimore VisitSen.
