Now Hiring Full-time, Temporary Water Efficiency Technician Intern Open until Filled Apply immediately ~Posted on 4/26/2021 The Marin Municipal Water District is offering an exciting opportunity to work for a community- oriented organization that is committed to contributing to the well-being of the environment! Salary Range $21.57 – $24.89 per hour 40-hours per week, Monday through Friday Work reporting address: 220 Nellen Avenue, Corte Madera, CA THE POSITION: (1 position). The position will play a key role enforcing mandatory water conservation requirements by conducting neighborhood patrols and issuing notifications for water waste offenses. The position will also assist with other water efficiency projects, as needed, including but not limited to contacting customers by phone, email and in-person, distributing supplies, staffing informational booths at community events, performing field inspections to verify product installations and making landscape measurements. Work hours are anticipated to be Monday thorugh Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. but some weekend, early morning or late evening shifts may be required, so flexibility is a must. This assignment is for just under six (6) months duration at the Corte Madera location. Anticipated Start Date: June 2021. Desired Qualifications: Must be 18 years old or older and have a California Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with the general public. This position is best suited towards a self-starter who enjoys working both as a member of a team and also independently. Excellent driving and navigation skills are required. Some knowledge of water efficiency, including irrigation systems and practices, is desirable but not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver’s license (prior to assignmentstart date). A satisfactory driving record is also required. Safety Boots required (at own cost). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required. Due to the driving requirements of this position, a DMV driving record and California driver’s license are required if applicant moves forward in the process. The selected candidate, upon acceptance of a conditional offer for District seasonal, temporary employment, will undergo a background check conducted by an outside agency and must take and pass a pre-employment/pre-duty medical exam and drug test. This assignment requires driving. A driving history from the DMV and possession of or ability to obtain a California driver’s Class C license will be required as part of the background check.
