Description
I am looking for a guitarist/vocalist to play the role of John Oates in a Hall and Oates tribute act. We are a group of experienced professional musicians in Chicago that really enjoy this music and want to play it at a high level. Our goal is to be as true to the originals as possible. I have a few demos already done, if you want a reference.
This person must have solid guitar chops, vocal harmony skills, and the ability to sing lead on some tunes (like "She's Gone" for instance). We want someone with a great attitude who doesn't take themselves too seriously. Gotta have fun doing this music, especially since we'll be decked out in costume and wigs (haha!)
My plan is to start by rehearsing 2-3 short sets of music (covering all the hits) and then book a couple of one-off tribute shows. Based on the reception of those shows, we'll decide whether we want to be a regularly gigging band or just stick to a once or twice a year tribute concert.
Anyways, above all else, this is going to be a silly and fun project with the possibility of being a rather lucrative outfit in the Chicagoland cover-band circuit. We'll accept any and all, as long as you have a love for Hall and Oates (even ironically haha).
CL email me if you're interested.
