Venture General Contracting is a full-service commercial and multi-family general contracting company in Seattle and ranked one of the Best Workplaces in Seattle. We are currently hiring for Carpenter to join our team! Our carpenters perform many duties including: Studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required. Select specified type of lumber or other materials. Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials. Shape materials to prescribed measurements. Assemble cut and shaped materials and fastens them together. Erect framework for structures and lays sub flooring. Build stairs and lay out, install partitions and cabinetwork. Cover sub floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to sub floor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base. Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls. Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware. Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Two years of experience working in the construction industry. Able to operate computers, basic word processing, spreadsheet and email. Knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction techniques, tools and equipment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
