Chester County Opens 13 Secure Drop Boxes For May 18 Primary

CHESTER COUNTY, PA – Chester County has announced steps it will take to support the May 18 primary election. These steps include 13 secure ballot drop boxes for mail-in and absentee ballots, which will be located at 12 libraries across the county, plus one at the Chester County Government Services Center in West Chester. Ten of the drop boxes will be staffed during business hours (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday). In addition, three drop box locations will be monitored by video surveillance and will be open 24/7. The drive-thru drop box locations are at: Henrietta Hankin Branch Library, Chester SpringsChester County Library, ExtonChester County Government Services Center, West ChesterAll drop boxes will be open on Primary Election Day until 8 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the primary election is May 3. The last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot is May 11. All completed mail-in and absentee ballots must be dropped into a secure drop box or received at Voter Services by 8 p.m. on May 18. All of Chester County's 230 precincts (located within 191 polling locations) will be open for this year's primary. The polling places will be set up to ensure the maximum level of personal protection against COVID-19 for both poll workers and the voting public.
