ELMHURST, IL — It was about 2 a.m. Dec. 13 outside Fitz's Pub, 172 N. Addison Ave. The bar had closed. Customers were waiting for Ubers. That's when a man in a red Audi pulled up with a passed-out woman in his front seat and told those waiting he was an Uber driver, according to a police report. He offered to give waiting women rides. They did not believe he was an Uber driver. The driver then pulled up into a nearby gravel lot and parked. The customers then saw three men come from that direction and throw punches at the waiting men, police said. One witness saw two of them come from the red Audi. One of the victims ended up on the ground, possibly hitting his head on the street, police said. Police learned about the fight 1½ hours later when a victim's father called to say his son was being treated at Elmhurst Hospital for injuries in a bar fight. His son was intoxicated and uncooperative, police said. The attackers were believed to have been in the bar earlier that night, some of whom were friends with the DJ at Fitz's Pub, according to the report. Earlier in the night, one of the attackers showed a woman his Instagram account that included a photo of himself on a motorcycle. He told the woman he was a famous motorcycle rider, police said. The woman later showed police the Instagram account, which also included a photo of four men, all wearing black shirts and gold chains, according to the report. She told officers all four men were the attackers, police said. The photos helped lead police to two of the suspects, who were arrested after turning themselves in earlier this month. Surveillance footage from the bar was also credited. Brian A. Bianco, 27, of Berwyn, and Nestor Hernandez, 32, of Arlington Heights, were charged with mob action. Under Illinois law, mob action is when a two or more people get together for the purpose of committing violence. Both men were released on bond.
