CHICAGO— Police need the public's help identifying a man who they said robbed and stabbed a 23-year-old man on a Purple Line train Monday evening.
At about 7:20 p.m., a man approached the 23-year-old while he was sitting on a Purple Line train at the Adams/Wabash station on the 200 block of South Wabash Avenue. The man demanded his cell phone, Chicago police said in a statement.
After the young man complied, the man demanded the passcode and then stabbed the 23-year-old in the back with a knife, according to police.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is listed in good condition.
Surveillance footage shows the police's suspect is between 30 and 40 years old and about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall.
