Tickets On Sale Now For Hoover Football's Game In Atlanta

HOOVER, AL —Hoover High School has announced that tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster for its season-opening football game on Aug. 21 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game is part of the Corky Kell Classic. The Buccaneers will face Georgia powerhouse North Gwinnett, kickoff scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Eastern, which will be one of five games played at the $1.6 billion home of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons that day. A ticket is good for all five contests. Hoover is set to become the first out-of-state team to participate in the Corky Kell, which is celebrating its 30th year. "We've got Hoover coming in from out of state. It'll be the first time we've had an out of state team and we're so excited to have them," said Dave Hunter, executive director of the Corky Kell Classic. The Bucs had been scheduled to play in the 2020 event, but were not permitted to travel to Atlanta due to a scheduling conflict stemming from COVID-19. "We are extremely excited to be playing in the Corky Kell Classic at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta," Hoover coach Josh Niblett said. "There is no better time for our Hoover Family to show our pride and passion for Hoover Football. "At Hoover, we pride ourselves on playing elite programs in first-class venues. North Gwinnett has a tradition that speaks for itself. We will need all of our Hoover Family in Atlanta to affect the energy and the environment that will allow our team and staff to accomplish the mission. We have one mission, and that's to go 1-0. Big-time opener, against a big-time opponent, in a big-time setting. Let's show up and show out." Hoover, which has won 13 AL state titles, is coming off an 11-2 season in which the Bucs were ranked No. 41 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.
