BIRMINGHAM, AL —A 40-year-old Birmingham man initially charged in connection with a Feb. 23 bank robbery, is back behind bars after being charged with new crimes, according to AL.com. Tellis Tremaine Porterfield was arrested in late March for a February 23 robbery at the PNC Bank branch at 9648 Parkway East. But he was reportedly released on $60,000 bond. But on Tuesday, court records were made public showing Porterfield had been booked into the Jefferson County Jail on April 22, charged with two counts of robbery of a pharmacy and two counts of robbery of a business. Court records did not indicate if the charges stemmed from an incident at one business, or separate businesses. According to court records, and reported by Al.com, Porterfield is accused of robbing an undisclosed pharmacy on Feb. 22, the day before the bank robbery. He reportedly stole Clonazepam and/or Valium and/or Diazepam. Porterfield also is charged with robbing a man and a woman at gunpoint, and taking cash. Porterfield's bond now totals $240,000.
