Bass player available. Been around a bit locally, playing for 20+ years. Looking for a band of competent to advanced musicians that's getting together once a week, gigging once or twice a month, and does their thing nights and weekends. Originals preferred, but I'm open to an interesting take on covers. Either way, please send samples of either the current band or previous ones, and I'll do the same. As for genre...I guess I'll just say "mostly rock" and not get more specific. I lean a towards the darker, moodier side of things, but I like more upbeat stuff as well, see the bands below. I can hang with compound meter and non-standard arrangements. I won't stare at you blankly if you ask me to try adding a 9th on the end of an arpeggio. Or I can just wing it in 4/4. Bands I like: Porcupine Tree, STP, Social D, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Chevelle, Soundgarden, The Gathering, U2 (older stuff), Breaking Benjamin, Alice In Chains, Galactic, Them Crooked Vultures, Black Keys, COC I'll call out a few things that might be limiting factors for some bands: 44 years old No classic rock I know 0 jazz standards I will never own an 8x10 cab again No touring, occasional out of town shows are cool I repeat, no classic rock Email if you think I might fit the bill.
