Since 2005 our objective has always been to provide inspiring, state-of-the-art interior doors that are functional and optimize the available floor space. Position Overview: The Apprentice Installer will provide support and assistance to the Lead Installer with the preparation and installation of sliding glass doors and their accessories. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Installations: Provide support to the lead installer assisting with onsite Installations of Sliding Doors and their accessories Pull all necessary parts for the daily installation per the daily schedule Assist in the proper loading of the installation vans Installation/Construction and service customer product in a quick, efficient, and safe manner Instruct our customers in the correct operation/installation of the product Assist in the clean-up of every job, leaving the job site cleaner then when we arrive Assist with collecting detailed information from field during service calls and or installations and report all findings Good customer service skills Vehicle Preparation & Maintenance: Complete the Installer vehicle Inspection Sheet every Monday to ensure the safe mechanical condition of the vehicle Document all issues on the inspection sheet and report them immediately to the Operations Technician Ensure all required checklists (Tool and Equipment Checklist, Hardware Checklist, and Installer Spare Parts checklist have been completed Product Knowledge: Learn product specifications and product applications Learn Installation process and any related field issues Learn to access and efficiently store product detailed drawings, specifications, etc. Learn company product/technical manual and its contents Field Measurements (when needed): Assist with onsite measurements and gather all pertinent field information for orders placed. Assist with all necessary forms and documentation Service Calls: (when needed) Assist with onsite service calls for customers with: Defective products, installation issues, onsite troubleshooting, and small repairs Qualifications: 3 years of experience in finish carpentry and/or construction including installation of window and door products Experience using power and hand tools Ability to lift heavy equipment (30-50lbs) Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, manuals and company provided drawings Ability to assist in writing reports, using iPad and other provided data tools Current Driver’s License Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Duties also include repetitive arm and hand movements and hand-squeezing. In addition, employee will often be exposed to loud noises such as drills (Ear protection is available on site).
