Former drummer with The Tale (all original) and Lifelike (over 250 rock covers) available to audition for a working or near working rock and roll band. I won't waste your time, if you don't waste mine.. peace Guitarist looking for metal/progressive/funky-heavy project (Sacramento) Hey nerds- I'm a guitar player looking for a project. It's been over a year since I've played with human people, and I'm getting the itch again now that things are starting to open back up. I'll keep this as brief as I can, but here's a little about me: - If age is something that matters to you, I'm 40. I've been playing in bands since I was 17, and I've played most genres that a guitar player can play (though never classical, which is a weak point of mine). - I am technically proficient, but my personal style when writing or improvising is "song first, chops if there's room". I'm closer to David Gilmour than Tosin Abasi, but I've been known to throw a little sweep into a solo from time to time. - I have all of the gear I need to play anything I need to play. 6-strings, 7-strings, amps/pedals, digital rig, etc. I'm equally comfortable with a full-on tube stack, or plugging my Helix directly into the board. - I play bass, though not as proficiently as I play guitar. - I play keyboards. When I say "play", I mean "make noises that are vaguely musical". I have no real skill beyond that of a first-year piano student. - I sing. I'm OK at it. I can carry a tune, but I prefer to leave it to folks that are better than me. I can also scream and do death growls. As for what I'm looking for? Something original and fun. Heavy and progressive would be great, though I'm kinda over super shreddy stuff right now. Bands I'm into: Devin Townsend (and all associated projects), Opeth, Alcest, Harakiri for the Sky, Amorphis, Moonspell, Alice in Chains, Prince, Black Sabbath, (old) In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy (the Angela Gossow era), (early) Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Animals as Leaders, Pink Floyd, Killing Joke, Ministry... blah blah blah. I'd prefer to join a full band, but I'm also very open to collaborations. Just... something with other people. Any of this sound cool? Hit me up
