Georgia-Pacific is looking to hire efficient and safety-focused Forklift Operators for our Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Distribution Centers located in Portland, OR. Forklift Operators create value by facilitating the movement of product through the facility to ensure accurate and timely delivery of our products to both internal and external customers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety standards and knowledge of forklift operations. Candidates for this role must be available to work any shift: 1st, 2nd and 3rd, as well as overtime, weekends and holidays and be willing to join a union. What You Will Do in Your Role • Conducting required pre-operating checks on forklift and equipment • Safely operating forklift and/or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading/unloading barges, moving product within the warehouse, and stacking at heights of 10 – 18 feet • Operating a forklift with lift weights up to 7,000 pounds for 10+ hours per day while using various attachments to move product such as forks, grabs, clamps, and push pull attachments • Using computer terminal/tablet equipment to obtain work assignments and complete those assignments as directed. • Utilizing hand tools and equipment while periodically handling product weights up to 50 pounds • Supporting our strict adherence to a safe working environment by wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) • Working in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment that is tobacco free • Provide accurate counts of finished goods The Experience You Will Bring Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • Experience using a computer What Will Put You Ahead • One (1) year or more of experience driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment Salary and Benefits defined by Collective Bargaining Agreement. Hourly pay starts at $17.40 for the first 1200 hours worked, then to $18.96 for 1200-2400 hours worked, followed by full rate at $24.54. Equal Opportunity Employer.
