Description
General Statement of Duties of Route Driver
The Route Driver drives predetermined routes to collect full compost buckets in a safe and organized manner. Work involves driving routes, collecting buckets, emptying buckets, washing and organizing of clean buckets. Drivers must use a smartphone to navigate routes and perform customer check ins. Position reports to the Doorstep Compost Manager and Executive Director.
Essential Duties and Tasks
Deliver empty buckets and collect full buckets in a timely manner to the locations on the route
Report on route irregularities to improve our service
Screen compost buckets for plastic contamination while dumping them into larger containers
Monitor inventory of supplies and notify management before shortages occur
Wash, sanitize, and store clean buckets
Field occasional questions from customers and prospective customers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use a smartphone/device for customer check ins and route navigation
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and team members
Working knowledge of the compost process
Physical Requirements/Special Requirements
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, feeling, and hearing.
Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Minimum Training and Experience
Demonstrates punctuality, good communication skills and management of details in job history and interview process. A positive attitude and commitment to the environment. Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license and safe driving history.
