Travis Gray – Vice President – Basin Engineering
A degreed petroleum engineer, Travis has worked in key operations, engineering and planning and development positions for Range Resources, Ascent Resources and Basin Engineering. As Vice President of Basin Engineering and its contract operating entity, Basin Operating Services, Travis holds critical roles in the management of production and facility operations in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. Since joining Basin in 2016, Travis has been providing value-oriented production strategies and facility designs to clients that help maximize uptime and minimize costs.
Avoiding Downtime and Costs Associated with Flow Pattern Effects on Production Facilities
Wellbore geometry and flow patterns contributing to slug flow at surface can negatively impact a production facilities’ ability to separate produced fluids, prevent downtime, prevent uncontrolled releases, and minimize operating expenditures. This study will introduce various flow patterns associated with horizontal wellbore geometry and multi-phase flow and compare the performance of facilities design in Oklahoma and Texas that account for flow patterns effects and those that do not.
