Every ticket will come with a show poster, a show t-shirt and a Terp Pearl that BMFT has made special for this event. Brendan Taylor, also know as BMFT grew up in Rockville Maryland right next to Washington DC. He moved to Tucson in 2006 where his primary focus was making music. In 2007 Brendan met Test 1 who introduced him to the glass blowing scene in Arizona. In 2009 he met Calvin Mickle a.k.a. Calm at Fathead Glass. Calvin and the rest of the Fathead Glass crew convinced BMFT to start blowing glass. That is the night that he realized he had found something special, another medium where he could express himself. “As soon as I put glass to the flame I knew this art form was for me. I loved the way the glass felt when it started melting and I could manipulate it however I wanted. It was like magic was happening right in front of me.” While in Arizona Brendan worked for Graffix making production work. This time helped him hone in his skills, learn glass techniques and understand more about the functionality of glass pipes. After a few years he left Graffix and started renting his own space at Devol’s studio. In Dec. of 2012, he decided to leave Tucson and explore more of the country. After traveling up and down the East Coast Brendan moved to Colorado with Eusheen in the summer of 2013. When he got to Colorado he started working at the Shackmansion with 12 other artists. In early 2014 “The Portal” glass studio was built and after a few months BMFT started working there. While keeping the Portal as his home base for the last 7 years he has traveled around the word collaborating with many different artists. Once becoming well known throughout the entire glass community he was asked to be the M.C. For the A.G.E. Awards for three years. Brendan has had many signature glass styles during his career. Out of his love for garlic, cheese and tomato sauce he started making pizza themed glass early on. From that he moved to his signature milk bottle design where he started incorporating some of the function tech. he learned while working for Graffix. After the milk bottles were dialed in he started learning to draw with glass using the “Cut and Flip” technique. Finally having mastered both aspects of form and function, BMFT combined all of his knowledge of melting glass into his Tetrapod design. Since moving to Denver in 2013 Brendan has lived in Downtown Denver which is where the inspiration for the show poster came from. We are extremely honored and excited to display Brendans newest body of work. The Tetrapods he has made for “Tetrapod Squad” are nothing short of amazing. We hope to see you there.
