Description

DANVERS, MA — Danvers has postponed Saturday's firearms permit processing because of a scheduling conflict. Saturday's date has been postponed to May 8. It will still be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Permit processing will also be done May 18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and May 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Danvers police said applicants are encouraged, but not required, to scan completed applications and support documentation to [email protected] or mail them prior to coming to the station. Those who cannot do that should bring all necessary documents to the station for processing. More information on required documents can be found here. Those applying for permits will have their temperatures checked and will be required to self-certify they are not experiencing any coronavirus-like symptoms. Those whose temperature reads higher than 98.6 degrees will be asked to leave the station and return for a permit no earlier than 14 days later. Police said that because criminal investigation emergencies can arise at any time, applications are asked to check their email and Danvers police social media to verify appointments have not been canceled on a given day.
