Press release from the City of Moorpark: April 26, 2021 We want to pass along this paid, bilingual English-Spanish training opportunity that is currently recruiting applicants in Ventura county. SCAG's Go Human Community Safety Ambassador Training Program is now selecting 60 community members from Imperial, San Bernardino and Ventura counties for this PAID, bilingual English-Spanish training opportunity, and we encourage you to apply today! Early consideration will be given to those who apply by April 30. This program aims to strengthen collaboration, build capacity and improve walking and biking safety. Selected Ambassadors will participate in a series of 12 training and workshop sessions to learn, co-identify, and implement strategies and solutions to improve traffic safety in their neighborhoods. All sessions will be virtual and led by our partner organization, California Walks. Sessions may include topic areas such as: How to identify safe places to walk and bike How to advocate for sidewalks and other safety improvements How to conduct walk and bike assessments Here are the key program dates: Application Deadline: Rolling basis, with early consideration by April 30, 2021 Final Ambassador Selection: Conducted on a rolling basis until seven days before Listening and Training Session 1 (early May), or until the roster is full for each county. Program Start: Early May 2021 Program End: Mid-August 2021 Each Ambassador cohort, per county, will identify and create a training schedule, including days and times, during the initial Listening Session.
