DANVILLE, CA — A Danville native studying nursing in Ohio organized a blood drive in hopes to connect COVID-19 patients with antibodies.
Emily Greenhouse, a junior at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, organized the event through her internship with the Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program.
The Red Cross performed COVID-19 antibody testing on each donation, according to a news release from the university. Donors will be notified if antibodies are detected in their donations.
"This is one of the most impactful ways to give back to the community during a time like this," she said in the news release.
Greenhouse has helped organize three blood drives as part of her Red Cross internship.
