Press release from the City of Carlsbad: April 26, 2021 The City of Carlsbad is seeking residents interested in filling two vacancies on the City of Carlsbad Library Board of Trustees for the term June 2021 to June 2025. Applications for this volunteer position are available on the city's website or in the City Clerk's Office, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by noon on Monday, May 21. The Library Board of Trustees duties include, but are not limited to: Advising and making recommendations to the City Council on matters relating to the operation of the city library system Recommending contractual arrangements and mutual agreements with other libraries, cities and the county for borrowing, lending and exchanging books and other publications Serving as liaison between the library and the community Reporting the condition of the library to the City Council and the state librarian on an annual basis. Term: June 2021 to June 2025 The Library Board of Trustees consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Members normally serve four-year terms and must be residents of Carlsbad. Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. at the City Council Chamber located at 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive. Meetings will be held virtually until further notice due to the County public health order.
