SAN JOSE, CA — A collision at a busy South Bay intersection killed two people on Monday night after a suspect's vehicle took off following a traffic stop, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. The incident took place shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday on Lawrence Expressway near Mitty Way. According to KPIX, sheriff's deputies were attempting a traffic stop when the vehicle took off. A white Honda suffered damage and another vehicle was "slammed up against a wall," per the station. .@SanJosePD is investigating a deadly crash that happened when @SCCoSheriff deputies tried to stop a driver who took off instead.
