Part time kennel assistant at Shadow Cats in Round Rock. Majority of time is spent cleaning their environment. AM hours 8-12. The successful candidate will ensure the safety, sanitation and upkeep of the premises- interior, exterior and grounds portion of the Sanctuary. Identifies and prioritizes daily needs. Gives great attention to detail. Works quickly and accomplishes assigned tasks during each shift. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Work is performed both in and outdoors which requires lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and other strenuous activities. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Communicates any sign of distress of any cat to staff technicians. Handles cats in a safe and respectful manner and understands that any cat, at any time, may bite. Aware of all inventories and shelter supplies that are directly used and makes staff technicians aware of low supply levels. Is aware of nonprofit need for good stewardship and frugal use of donated supplies. Possible exposure to infectious organisms, animal waste, allergens, chemical materials requiring OSHA Safety Data Sheet.
