Are you a Jackson County pet owner? Then schedule your dog or cat for the first “By Appointment Only, Drive-Thru Pet Chip-A-Thon” being held Saturday June 5th, at the Jackson County Animal. Permanent microchips will be implanted and registered at just $20 per chip for Jackson County dog, cat, puppy and kitten owners. Payment by Cash or Credit Card only (no checks).
To make your pet’s appointment, you must call
, and please wear a mask at the June 5th event. Pet age and weight restrictions will apply. The shelter is located at 5595 So. Pacific Hwy (99) in Phoenix, near Talent.
Microchips do not replace legal requirements to license dogs nor the convenience of attaching a visible I.D. to your dog or cat’s collar.
According to statistics, one in three family pets will get lost during their lifetime, and without identification, approximately 90 percent will not return home. Yet, there are also many heartwarming stories of pets who have been lost for months or even years and are finally reunited with owners, perhaps even in a different state, after being scanned for a registered microchip. Don’t let your dog or cat be one of thousands who can’t be returned due to lack of permanent ID.
