Description: Coast pavement services is seeking experienced asphalt rakers with a strong work ethic and who want to be apart of the Paving it Forward culture at Coast as part of its paving team. The successful raker will have experience operating the paving machine in a variety of conditions. Coast primarily works in parking lots and facilities of apartment complexes, home-owners associations, commercial outlets, industrial facilities, and office buildings. Our work includes an increasing split of prevailing and standard work but does not include highway work and only limited situations of residential paving. Duties & Responsibilities • Develop an eye for what looks low or high and address with crew to fix immediately • Have a strong understanding of mat defects and the ability to implement solutions • Train and work with new laborers • Communicate with foreman and operators • Develop an understanding to why jobs are paved in a certain way • Maintain communication with the roller operator about defects to eliminate punch list items Qualifications: • At least two years related asphalt raking experience is required. • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments. • Be flexible on schedule with overtime, nights (occasionally) and weekends as necessary • Must have a strong work ethic. • Ability to thrive in a team setting. • Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and customers in a courteous, professional manner at all times. • Those with a valid driver's license are highly preferred. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug testing. Experience: 2+ asphalt experience Requirements: Must have a Valid Drivers License and be insurable for company auto insurance plan.
