Still-forming punk rock group seeks talented drummer

Description

We are a punk rock-oriented four-piece with dual lead vocals currently in the market for a drummer to join our ranks -- originally we were going to be a power trio with a vibe that's similar to bands like Jawbreaker, Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, or Hüsker Dü, but the person who was gonna play bass and sing co-lead wants to play second guitar instead, so we've recruited a bass player to fill his spot and now we just need a drummer to round out the lineup! We’re looking for someone who can bring a powerful, fast, and flexible energy to the band, but also can sit in with a song and play what's appropriate for that song. We're not necessarily looking for a progressive super-skilled drummer who worships at the throne of Neil Peart (RIP) and plays a 20-piece kit -- not that there's anything wrong with that, but we want someone who's got the skills AND knows how to use them, knows exactly what to play within a certain context. Y'know, someone along the lines of a Bill Stevenson, Dave Grohl, Tré Cool, John Bonham, or Keith Moon type drummer. Ability to sing backup vocals not required, but it's definitely a *yuuuuge* plus! Now you might read that description and think, “Mehh, not for me,” and hey, it’s all good! We totally understand if it’s not your style! … Orrrrrr maybe we’re just not making ourselves clear enough, so if you’re at the very least intrigued with that band description, we can send you two to three demos that we have mostly done -- one of which is called “Shift(ed)” that our one guitarist/vocalist feels really encapsulates what we want the band to sound like, only it’s missing lyrics and a melody for the bridge section (our other guitarist/vocalist seems to think it’s fine as it is, but maybe you could give it a shot?). Now if we're being perfectly honest, there’s no rush in getting back to us right away: our one guitarist just recently moved back to the Philly/South Jersey area and is spending some time getting settled, looking for a full-time day job, and hopefully finding some new digs; and both our bassist and other guitarist can get busy at times too. But once we've filled out our four-piece, we'd like to be as committed as possible while still being able to perform well in our day jobs, meaning no less than two or three rehearsals a week after work with the ultimate goal being to play multiple shows a month once venues get back up and running. Who knows — maybe we'll come up with enough songs and become a tight enough band to consider cutting an EP or full-length album! For now, why not shoot us an email with samples of your drumming (as well as your regular email address, we’ve had some issues with CL’s mail relay thing), and let us know if you’d like to hear what we got! We’ll gladly send those demos over to you if you're interested! We're very excited to be getting together and jamming sometime soon, and we hope you are too! PS. It would be incredibly helpful if you have your own drum kit, but if not, just make sure you have your own cymbals, snare, and kick pedal -- our bassist can supply the rest at his rehearsal space where the four of us will be playing.
