Job Summary: Provides members and guests with clean and well-functioning carts as needed. Delivers and retrieves carts, using customer service skills and 3-steps of service to create and promote positive member relations. Maintains cart fleet equipment, supplies and storage. Performs bag storage and retrieval services, maintains cleanliness and orderliness of cart room and staging areas. Sets up and maintains driving range. Uses a variety of Ball machines and ensures proper working condition. May be assigned responsibility for shift Opening and Closing procedures. Performs as member of workteam in carrying out responsibilities and meeting department goals and needs. Essential Functions of Job: Moderate physical exertion in outdoors environment with frequent bending, stooping and lifting requirements. Moderate to heavy lifting- up to 25 to 50 lbs. Demonstrates customer service skills in all interactions with members, guests and internal staff. Ability to work as team member in achieving group goals. Principal Job Responsibilities: 1. Meets and greets members, guests and other golf course users, demonstrating the 3-Steps of Service in all member interactions. 2. Regularly cleans and prepares carts; stages carts, drives carts for timely delivery to, or retrieval from members. Cleans member’s clubs, may repair grips if qualified. 3. Responsible for storing and retrieving member golf bags in timely and service-oriented manner. 4. Maintains Cartroom facility cleanliness and orderliness. Replenishes supplies and maintains good operating condition of equipment. Washes and stores towels. Performs routine and minor maintenance on cart fleet, including pulling and filling batteries. Notifies supervisor of major cart maintenance repair. Notifies supervisor of cartroom supply or stock needs. 5. Follows cartroom safety procedures, and all other Club and departmental policies and procedures. 6. Sets up and/or breaks down driving range. Utilizes driving range equipment such as Ball picking machine, ball washing machine, and ball dispensing machine. Ensures all such equipment is functioning effectively. Reports discrepancies to supervisor. 7. May be assigned Cartroom Opening/Closing responsibilities. Is responsible for routine security of Club equipment, supplies and temporary storage of member golf equipment. Must demonstrate reliability, and proficiency in all assignments and shift attendance. 8. May be assigned special projects or duties as needed.
